Offsheet Classes Guides for tutors
Getting started: bring in your students from Google Sheets, Excel or a Google Doc
Getting started · Updated 15 October 2026 · 2 min read
You don't need to type your students in again. Offsheet Classes reads the list you already keep, shows you what it found, and only adds them when you say so.
Already have an account? Open your dashboard and follow along. You can also tap Help (the ? at the top) and choose Show me: it points to each button as you go, on sample students if you haven't added your own yet.
1. Get your list as a file
Open your list in Google Sheets or Google Docs. Tap File, then Download, and choose Microsoft Excel for a sheet or Microsoft Word for a doc. An Excel file or a CSV you already have works as it is.
On a phone, it's often quicker to copy the cells instead: select them, copy, and paste them in step 2.
2. Open the import
In your dashboard, go to Students and tap Import from a spreadsheet. Tap Choose my file, or Or copy and paste your list instead if you copied the cells.
Your file is read on your phone or computer. Nothing is saved until you add the students.
3. Say what's in it
Choose My students if it has one row for each student (their name, and maybe their level, fee or class times). Choose Classes I've taught if it has one row for each class, with its date, like a register kept month by month.
4. Check what was found, then add them
You'll see We found your students. If a column went to the wrong place, open Something doesn't look right? and say which column holds each thing; the list updates as you choose. For a list of classes, you'll be asked whether they've been paid for. Then tap Add students.
5. Give them their class times
A student's classes show on your week once they have class times. On their card under Students, tap + Class times, pick the days and time, and save. Students in the same class can share the times and each keep their own fee.
Just a few students?
Tap Add student at the top and fill in one at a time. You can import more later; it won't touch the students you already have.
